Black Sheep
This past Wednesday my aunt died,
So we called on the fourth of July
To check up on all who’s still alive
No goodbyes, just tough guys
Made a point not to wear red and blue
Or to bring up wherever flu
Still they made sure I understood
Good statehood and falsehood
And they laugh at me, and I laugh at them
They all have guns, its all in good fun
This songs for me and the black sheep
Keep grazing your pasture alone
This past Wednesday my aunt died
Heaven kept her preoccupied,
Or she saw how none of you cried
What a shame I share your name
Think I hung up the phone first
These days my memories been the worst
So I laid down and cursed,
“At your worst, dive head first”
Who needs anyone
When you aren’t the one
They ask for?
